The Safety Analyst contributes to the overall safety culture of McGee Air Services by utilizing a variety of analytic tools to help predict, explain, and proactively address safety risks and trends in support of the Safety Management System. This role reports to the Manager, Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Quality Control.


  • Act as lead for analysis and reporting functions in the Safety department
  • Gather, analyze, and disseminate business data
  • Provide support for the business through the development and distribution of reports, dashboards, and tools, to maintain and enhance performance
  • Track business performance against benchmarks and goals and report key trends to stakeholders
  • Provide limited ad-hoc reporting and analysis
  • Utilize a variety of analytic tools to generate data models to help predict and explain business and operational trends to senior leadership and other division stakeholders
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and training for existing business reporting
  • Develop business acumen and continue to develop analytics and reporting abilities
  • Perform a variety of administrative functions specific to the integrity, quality, and management of business data
  • Model and maintain an inclusive, engaging, and high-performance culture that demonstrates McGee's values of Safety, Service, Integrity, Mutual Respect, Accountability and Pride
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must have Bachelor's (preferably in Math, Science, Business, or other technical discipline) or have at least 3 years' experience working with Business Intelligence, analytics, research, or operations
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills is required
  • Experience using data analysis tools such as Tableau is required. SQL Server Reporting Services, Cognos, or PowerBI is highly preferred
  • Experience in formal Safety improvement activities with data utilization, visualization and communication required
  • Good communication and presentation skills are required
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence or analytics field is required
  • Experience using Office applications, specifically Word and Excel is required
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, including knowledge of pivot tables, charting, and basic functions is required
  • Aviation/Airline Safety experience highly preferred
  • Understanding of basic principles of databases and experience in querying data from data sources using SQL, or other query methods is preferred
  • Knowledge of SMS and Aviation industry best practices preferred
  • Basic experience in programming languages is preferred
  • Must be able to work well within a team environment Must be detail-oriented and organized
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
