The Managing Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading the Human Resources team and for building people strategies that align with the culture and business objectives. This role leads the Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, Employee & Labor Relations and HR Compliance teams. The Managing Director is responsible for building out programs that attract, engage, retain employees, as well as enhance performance, learning, and development opportunities. This position is a highly collaborative position and works very closely with the operations leaders. The position reports directly to the President of McGee Air Services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consults and collaborates with the President and Senior Leadership Team to develop people strategies that evolve and grow McGee Air Service's culture and business.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and advisement to the Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, Employee/Labor Relations and Compliance teams.
  • Builds scalable talent and organizational programs focused on continuously improving operational capacity.
  • Guides the talent acquisition and recruiting team to attract, hire and onboard employees. Grows a healthy pipeline of employees and manages a succession planning process.
  • Oversees the organizational development function - providing strategy and insight to organizational design, performance, leadership development and employee engagement solutions.
  • Partners with leaders on developing performance solutions, enabling high performance and quickly addressing performance challenges.
  • Develops and leads a compensation and benefits practice that recruits and retains high quality, diverse talent.
  • Ensures compliance, mitigates risk, and maintains a thorough knowledge in HR legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Leads the employee relations and leaves practice, ensuring legal, regulatory and compliance requirements including EEO, Fair Labor Standards, Wage and Hour, FMLA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Champions and promotes an engaged, inclusive, equitable, and diverse organizational culture.
  • Foster and maintain an environment and culture that exemplifies McGee's values of Safety, Service, Integrity, Mutual Respect, Accountability and Pride.
  • Perform additional duties as required for the success of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree specializing in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Seven years of Human Resources experience.
  • Five years of Senior Leadership experience.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Strong consulting skills including negotiation, persuasion, coaching, teaching, influencing, listening and objectivity.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and flexible enough to quickly adjust and respond to changing priorities.
  • Ability to develop and motivate team members and maximize individual and team performance.
  • High Degree of independent decision making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proactive insight and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Flexibility to support travel (approximately 10-20%) required.
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
